Policy Swift

Since its foundation, the Georgetina Foundation has offered children, young people and young adults up to 21 years old, in a disadvantaged position in developing countries (in a Latin American or West African country) and in the Netherlands, support to develop their artistic talents, skills and school career.

From 2012 to 2021, the focus has been on achieving our goals through the arts.

This involved stimulating the special artistic talents of children / young people and young adults who are in a disadvantaged position. Until 2016, we had offered our support via a National (The Netherlands) and International Program. From 2016 and onward, we have been focusing only on the International Program, since there was a bigger need for children and young people in the developing countries in West Africa and Latin America.

BROADEND FOCUS

In addition to empowering the artistic talents of these target groups through arts (more so for: children through arts education and talent development, for young people through vocational arts education, internships for young adults, arts stipends for young arts professionals and for women through literary productions), the Georgetina Foundation also has two other objectives, namely to Support Education and Social /Community Projects for the same target groups.

However, moving forward (as of 2022), there seemed to be a bigger need for the other two objectives amongst our target groups internationally. That's why we support EDUCATION AND SOCIAL/COMMUNITY PROJECTS as new means to reach our goals with the targeted groups. We have stopped the support for and funding of arts projects for youngsters up to 21 years old altogether, while continue with supporting arts project for children between 6 to 12 years old in the arts disciplines: music, visual arts and dance.

WHAT HAS STOPPED?

Applications regarding:

  • Internships for youngsters in vocational arts education.
  • Literary projects for women.
  • Sosie Stipends.

Due to the chances, we have stopped hosting our Dutch website www.georgetina-foundation.nl
In due course, when the funding is ready, we will add new content to a new Georgetina Foundation website to highlight our activities and projects, and the conditions to apply for a small project grant.
